Durante os ataques de Israel a Gaza em julho e agosto de 2014, morreram cerca de 2,100 pessoas, ao longo de 7 semanas. O Governo do Brasil, em sinal de protesto, chamou de volta o Embaixador do Brasil em Tel Aviv, gesto que o irritado Governo israelense chamou de "Dwarf Diplomacy".

O montante arrecadado naquela noite foi US $ 2,000 (dois mil dólares).
Um amigo transferido para servir em Ramalá,
Leandro, encarregou-se de levar o dinheiro, em espécie, como
contribuição aos esforços humanitários.

"Giants for Gaza" - 26 August, 2014
An artistic reception to network and raise funds for humanitarian assistance in Gaza.
Besides giving people a chance to hear beautiful music and poetry from
the Middle East, the idea is to exchange ideas about strategies and
campaigns many of us are involved in, while raising funds for UNRWA's
work in Gaza. As recently published in the New York Times, the
devastation of the attacks on Gaza, which have resumed, has been
severely underestimated, and over 350 thousand people have been
displaced. Just reading about this is too painful, better that we get
together even to make the tiniest difference - every effort helps!
So if you play an instrument, bring it! And feel free to brush up on your poetry recitations as well.

Division at UNRWA. I received the attached report for a $2,000 donation
which was managed through the Brazilian Representative Office to
Palestine. I believe the generous donor is one of your friends. You may
have received this report already, but I wanted to make sure. The report
includes pictures and thank you notes from the families who received
the cash assistance. I hope your friend will be happy to see that
his/her donation was put to good use and made a real difference in the
lives of four families.

Reintegration Package
UNRWA received on 4 February 2015 a private donation of US$ 2,000 from Microrrevolutions for the reconstruction of the Gaza Strip after the 2014 summer hostilities.
The private donation enabled UNRWA to provide a Reintegration Package, a US$ 500 allowance intended for the purchase of non-food items for families who had their shelter rendered uninhabitable, to four refugee families.
